Beekeepers first
Tony & Kate
The beginning
It started with the bees. Tony and Kate saw them up close — in the hives, working — and fell for it: the seasons, the travel, the slow business of good honey. Australian Bee Products grew out of that. They kept the operation nomadic, following the flowering across the Gold Coast, northern New South Wales, the Scenic Rim and the Granite Belt, and kept production small so the honey stayed close to how it left the frame — unfiltered and cold-extracted. Nothing went to waste: the beeswax became candles, soap and balm.
Mount Stirling Meadery came later. They weren't looking to start a drinks brand — they were looking for a better way to honour a good season's honey than leaving it in a jar. So they started fermenting it: clean, contemporary mead for the table, made from their own single-source honey. No medieval novelty, no costume. Being beekeeper-run is the whole point — they control the honey from the first frame to the bottle.
Honey and mead aren't two businesses. They're the same story, told twice — a seamless connection from hive to glass.
The honey decides what the mead can be.
